I have quite a nice collection of sunglasses, however, it doesn’t mean I stop looking for a new pair of eyeware. Therefore when the GlassesShop.com offered to send me a piece for review, well I jumped at the chance.
The GlassesShop offeres a wide variety of eyeglasses online from prescription lenses to non-prescription and prescription sunglasses. However, as I don’t need any prescription eyeglasses, I opted for the Dick Aviator sunglasses with a silver/blue coating, $35.95.
The sunglasses themselves are abolsutely gorgeous, and surprisingly lightweight. It even comes with its own transparents and compact protective case. However, I am sad to say this is as far as the good qualities go.
The sunglass lenses themselves were far too dark to wear outside. When worn, it honestly felt as if I was outside in the darkest of days because a thunderstorm was rolling in. I couldn’t even look at my phone for any reason as it made it difficult to read. It seemed to vibrate the monitor itself causing eye strain. This meant I had to contstantly remove the sunglasses from my eyes to be able to use my technocolgy comfortably. In which case, I wasn’t wearing them as often as I should be.
Additionally, if I wore the Dick Aviators for more than a few minutes at a time, I would start to get headaches and my eyes would feel uncomfortable. As there should have been no prescription in the lenses, I have absolutely no idea where this feeling came from. However it does mean I will not be wearing these sunglasses for an extended period of time. For this reason, why would I bother wearing them at all.
While I had a rather poor experience, I do wonder if they have, in their wide selection, a pair that is good for general wear, whether precription or non-prescription. But that is something I won’t be looking into myself.
If, however, you are still interested to try one of their pairs of eyeware, I have a special coupon code. Use code GSHOT50 which will give 50% off for all eyeglasses and sunglasses ,with free lenses, throughout the website. This offer does excludes sales frames.
