I have been wondering about the ColourSport 30 Day Mascara and Brow Tint* and ColourSport 30 Day Brow Tint for a long while now. However, I am going to just stop you right there and tell you that my brows are actually black. Ditto for my lashes. Therefore would it even work for me?
I will admit, I wondered if there was even a point to me testing these products. Yet whilst examining my brows and lashes, I could see there was potential. I have some brow hairs lighter than others, and the very tips of my lashes looked quite pale. These were the areas I focused the most product.
The first product I tried was the ColourSport 30 Day Mascara and Brow Tint*, £8.95. To use, you apply the solution with a cotton bud to the lashes, and leave it for a minute to absorb. I focused the bulk of the solution on my lower lashes, especially near the tips. Once complete, you brush through the tinted gel and allow to colour. The gel itself is clear but once it hits the solution on the eyes, it start to turn black.
A similar procedure was done with the ColourSport 30 Day Brow Tint*, £8.25. However, the dye cream was mixed with the developer in a well before it was placed on the brow and left to set. On both products, there was a “hint” to leave it on longer to allow a deeper shade than the recommended 1 minutes of each. While the lashes I had no issues with leaving on for a total of 5 minutes, the brow tint was another story.
The surrounding skin of my brow turned a ghastly red from irritation and the skin where the brow tint laid upon started to burn. After 5 minutes, I removed the brow tint and cooled the area with cold water.
After all was said and done, in truth, I didn’t seem much of a difference to my brows nor my lashes. The lighter hairs were slightly darker, mostly near the edge of my brow. However it seemed to exaggerate a bald spot I never knew existed. As for my lashes; once again it was only a slight difference. Although the lower lashes were a bit more visible than before.
Regardless of the remarkable difference (sense the tone?), it seems to only be noticeable for about a week. A week and a half at most. It was a bit hard to tell. I even used the product a second time to ensure I was correct in visibility… I didn’t see a difference.
If you have dark hair already, I wouldn’t bother spending your cash on these products. However, if you have blonde brows and lashes, you may just see a difference.
