A Relaxing Experience with Kneipp and Weleda

Kneipp Valerian & Hops Mineral Salt Bath

I have forgotten how to relax. Over the last year, I have been working from the moment my eyes open, to the second they close. Any rest in between was delegated to eating, drinking and bathroom adventures. Therefore, when I received the Kneipp Valerian & Hops Mineral Salt Bath and Weleda Lavender Creamy body wash, I was excited as it meant I would have to force myself to rest.

Sadly, this didn’t happen for another month. This constant Go, Go, GO! of mine has become non-stop to the point I don’t know any better. It felt lazy to take a moment to myself and relax. Then I got sick again, and it hit me that this was the moment to just stop and take care of myself.

Kneipp Valerian & Hops Mineral Salt Bath

I turned the tap, filled the bathtub with warm water and the Kneipp Valerian & Hops Mineral Salt Bath*, 500 g, £8.95. The tub turned a shockingly deep blue, and the bathroom filled with the bold scent of valerian. I stepped into the bath, and “relaxed”. It was at this point I realized I didn’t know what I was doing any more.

My mind was racing with the thoughts of things I have done, and yet to do. I kept thinking “I need to get out and do (insert multiple chores here)”. Then the scent of the Kneipp Valerian & Hops Mineral Salt Bath hit me, and my mind slowly started to melt as it eased to calm.

For the first time in over year, all the pent up stress, and tense muscles became non-existent, and my thoughts were peaceful. I felt content and more like the real me. After about 10-15 minutes, I was ready to get out and head to bed, which became one of the most restful sleeps in a long time.

In the morning, I popped into the shower for a quick rinse and hair wash, and the Weleda Lavender Creamy Body Wash*, 200 ml, £7.95, was heaven. The body wash foamed up just enough to cover my skin in its creamy goodness. Originally I was worried my skin would dry out from the two, yet my skin felt hydrated and renewed. And, as lavender does, it calmed my mind, and created the perfect blank slate to start the day.

The combination of the soothing bath the night before, and the heavenly shower in the morning was the perfect pairing. It made me feel like me. The real me, and not the one who has been running around, stupid busy and anxious. The me who can do anything.

In the end, the Kneipps Valerian & Hops Mineral Salt Bath and Weleda Lavender Creamy Body Wash became the ultimate relaxing experience. An experience I plan to do more of.

Sounds like you are having a really tough time, Angie and the move back to the Skin such a short period of time must have been exhausting both mentally and physically. That said, Kneipp Valerian & Hops Mineral Salt Bath sounds heavenly, I need it for myself too.

I can relate to the feeling of not knowing how to relax anymore. With kids and a job and a blog and the house it is so easy to just keep going, but taking time for yourself is very important. I am glad you had some help to get you into relaxation mood.
