#WhoNeedsAFilter When You Have Misfit Cosmetics*

Misfit Cosmetics knows creating a selfie is more than just about a great makeup routine with the added filter. It is about starting at the base of it all: your “misfit area’s” or those less thought of. Therefore Misfit Cosmetics has come out with a  range to get to perfect these areas sans the use of a filter.

While Misfit Cosmetics has only a total of 3 products to their name, their products pack a powerhouse of neglected beauty. From powerful extraction masks: to ensure a smoothed and even appearance. Teeth whitening powders: for a natural shine more brilliant than the sun. And finally an all natural sleep aid for a good nights sleep. All three products can be key to a healthy life and appearance, hence the no filter.

Edit London Blackhead Extraction Paste, 50g, £18.99 – The peel off extraction mask is composed of bamboo charcoal that purifies and polishes skin, as well as deeply cleansing pores. The thick mask should be applied to dried skin as it will separate on contact. Additionally wet skin can prolong drying time of said mask. Unlike other peel-off masks, it is quite gentle on the skin, while being powerful enough to remove exposed issues. However it can dry the skin out meaning a deeply hydrating cream is need immediately following. Upon removal, the skin is left silky smooth.

Shine Teeth Whitening Powder, £14.99 –  Formulated with activated carbon, the all natural ingredients remove stubborn stains while promoting oral hygiene. The loose black powder is brilliant at removing long term stains from wine, coffee and tea. However it can be easily spilled and can be hell to clean. For this reason, I would use my normal tooth paste to pick up the powder. While I did see a slow change to the colour of my teeth, I eventually had to discontinue using it as it made my incisors quite sensitive to the point it hurt to even allow my tongue touch it.

Slumber Natural Sleep Oil, 10ml, £7.99 –  The sleep aid uses lavender oil to naturally induce drowsiness, easing your mind into a gentle night sleep. As I am actually allergic to lavender oil, I used the oil on my son who has been having sleeping issues due to illness. Using just a few drops on the edge of his pillow was all it took. His usual restless sleep was replaced with sound sleep and a calm in the morning. Even my daughter noticed the change and asked to have some on her pillow. Although I do suspect it might have to do with how lovely it smelled more than anything.

Ok all three products are on my list now! I have always wanted to try a charcoal beauty treatment and I love extraction products. The black powder sounds like a super cool way to remove stains. And I am all for using essential oils, especially lavender, to induce sleep.

The mask sounds fabulous! Ouch at the teeth…I have sensitive teeth so sadly I can never use any whitening toothpastes. 🙁

Too bad the teeth whiteners made your teeth sensitive! It seems like such a great product for a smoker and a coffee-lover like me.

Sometimes it is the perfect way to lull them to sleep. but have you tried a humidifer? When my kids are sick, ithttp://www.chocolateandlipstick.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?comment_status=moderated#comments-form does the trick.
